Hey Community,

I wonder if any one has any suggestions; after running a first bundle adjustment (Full at unconstrained) my image positions are being modified too much during bundle adjustment?

Hi Saul,

Good question, typically the bundle adjustment process will perform a minimization of image residuals. Hence, it could lead to modifications on the image positions that are larger than expected, but still leading to good residuals. You should use the "Constrained" mode to set maximum modifications permitted during bundle.

let me know if this helped!

Hey David,

Thanks for the tip, this flight was a nightmare due to high winds during collection, however, constraining the AT improved the solution significantly: Constrained; settings (5m, 5m,5m,60°,60°,180°) for X,Y,Z, Omega, Phi, Kappa. I ran two bundle adjustments and that gave us the best results.

Thanks again for the tip!

Saul.
